Bearded aliens are barista-ing a Chicago café! It’s every speciesist’s worst nightmare! Details at 11. (In the meantime, stay away from Humboldt Park and stay far away from Star Lounge! They’re putting dark matter into their coffee!)

Everybody’s Coffee
Do you ever wonder what happened to The Jesus People? They’re alive and well, and among other things, they run Everybody’s Coffee on Wilson Ave in Uptown Chicago. “Everybody’s” is an oasis of interesting espresso drinks and excellent WIFI in an ever-shrinking “JJ Peppers” kind of hood. It’s quickly become one of my favorite coffeehouses. It a good example of the change taking place in this neighborhood.
Beurrage
Beurrage’s vanilla glazed doughnut is unparalleled. You can get them in the South Loop at La Haven, or at the source in Pilsen. If you’re not in a doughnut mood – if that’s possible – Beurrage makes fantastic pastries of all sorts.
Sunday Brunch at Azul 18: Thank You, Jesus
This is where Jesus likes to go after church on Sunday. Jesus Hernandez, I mean … my downstairs neighbor. Azul 18 is a New American (Mexican) restaurant in Chicago’s funkadelic Pilsen neighborhood. Jesus led me here for breakfast. He had a scramble. I filled up on crêpe.
La Haven: You can find find refuge here
La Haven, a South Loop Chicago coffeehouse, serves up La Colombe coffee as well as fantastic doughnuts and pastries. Ample seating and fast WIFI make La Haven an excellent café for coworking. Just a half-block from the traffic grief that is the intersection of Michigan and Roosevelt, you can find solace here.
Vegan Peppermint Mocha Oatmeal
Vegan Peppermint Mocha Oatmeal is chocolate, coffee, quick, and kind of easy-ish.
Coffee, Free WIFI: Lake View, Chicago
Uh, you guess it: it’s another café review. But look at that awesome silver cup! Terrific Turkish coffee, and you don’t have to worry about werewolves.
